Miss Eleanor Thom American subject Chinese race now in Chungking states that she was the senior mistress of Belilios School on a permanent establishment of the Education Department which she joined in 1929. During the seige she was auxiliary nurse. She was not interned but escaped from Hong Kong on March 22nd. Pending reply to my telegram under reference I am paying her salary of 430 Hong Kong dollars per mens em plus high cost of living allowance of 30 Hong Kong dollars until employment can be found for her.
